Beaches in Nebraska

Lake McConaughy in Nebraska was our pit stop en route to Colorado from Iowa , admittedly, not expecting much I was very pleasantly surprised. The water sparkling blue and the sand soft enough to nestle my sensitive toes in, we ran the shores and admired the dunes stretching out all around us - a grand reprieve from the endless monotony of fields and cows in our drive so far and most likely ahead for another long stretch of land.

We enjoyed camping right on the sand at the foot of the lake and though there's not much to say about it other than it was actually pretty awesome. Definitely worth the drive from Iowa City and a very enjoyable camp site!
